I can't read Chinese, so question for a more literate person: does the blurb above mean the MRX 720 has 11.1 processed channels with a 7-channel amp, and the 1120 has 11 amp channels built in?

Nice to see Anthem didn't "310"* the new MRX's!

*Refers to Anthem making the MRX 310 a 5.1-channel AVR when its predecessor MRX 300 was a 7.1-channel AVR.

Yes 11 channels of amps for the 1120... Impressive, so long as I don't need a pc to calibrate

Interesting. It seems that the AVM 60 has the same level of ARC and all the same features as listed in that spec sheet above. The only difference I see is balanced outputs. I'm real curious as to the AVM 60's cost compared to the two AVRs.

So if I am reading this right, the 1120 will have 11 channels processing / 11 channels amp. 720 is 11 channels processing/ 7 channels amp. Wonder if the 720 + External amp will allow 11 / 11 or will be constrained.

From my understanding of the post in Chinese, the 720 has 11 channel processing, and that is what I understand from other chat sites about the HKG show.

Sweet, I'm finding these Anthem and their minimalist approach very appealing!

I'm not proficient in neither Mandarin, or is it Cantonese but I think you're correct in assumptions.
I guess they have to keep a price point (Lower cost), as they drop a model AVR #, which I personally don't mind as I like the decition making as simple as possible

Fun times ahead.

Dear all,

Sorry for less details as I only got this information from my friend, more information as follows:-

MSRP
AVM 60 Euro 3,000
MRX 1120 Euro 3,000
MRX 720 Euro 2,000

The source said AVM60 was made in Vietnam so that the price seems more affordable.

Will available in end of this year.

Google translate with an offline Chinese language pack decodes the slide nicely. Main differentiators seem to be

the 4th row says that the 2 high end models have a toroidal power supply but the 720 doesn't. This suggests the 720 is more of a 520.

DTS:X is listed as "needs software upgrades"

The prepro has balanced outputs

Subwoofer outputs are translated as "group 2" so does that mean 2 independent outputs ?

Basically the prepro gives you balanced (and no amps), the 1120 gives you amps but no balanced, the 720 has no toroidal and no balanced.

The impression I get is that the AVM60 and the two MRX are going to be released concurrently, more or less. Didn't expect the MRX to hit for another year. This is exciting indeed.

Edit: Wait, why is "Advanced Load Monitoring" checked for the AVM60? I thought that was the amplifier monitoring system . . . So let's hope the 11 channel processing for the 720 is right . . .

Cr*p, that will make it around the 3000€ ballpark here in Europe for the 720, the 2 others around 4500€...

anybody knows what the Differential-Output D/A of 32bit & 768kHz would be good for?
Is that necessary for some sort of signals of the new multichannel types?
we all like big numbrs - don't we...

I used a Euro conversion table and came up with a smaller number. Those prices are still lower than what Anthem usually charges for their Pre/Pro's, but the AVR's are a bit high.

What’s the current suggested retail price of an MRX 710 or 510 in that market?

The 710 has a msrp of $1999 I would hope the 720 would be around the same price. $600 seems like a pretty major jump in price.

I'm curious why an "Anthem pre-pro" is more exciting to you than an "Anthem AVR," given that here the differences appear to just be balanced outputs on the pre-pro vs. amplifier channels on the AVR. We're not talking about whole different analog sections, with the pre-pro having much higher objective performance. That was the case with previous (super-expensive) Anthem pre-pros vs. MRX.

The stated price (accurate or otherwise) is not only in a different market but also in a different currency. Hence my question. The absolute number is a lot less interesting IMO than the percentage increase.

I agree. Unless the AVM 60 has a much better analog section than the MRX 1120 I'd go with the MRX 1120 to get the amp section. I'm also curious as to if these three have the full version of ARC. If the MRSP for the AVM 60 and the MRX 1120 are $3500 US then that seems a bit steep IMO.
