Netflix HD - Dune announced it, and as I know, it really plays up to 1080p, and support also 5.1 audio output. Dune does not have business contract with Netflix for that.
Dune use standard Android version at their new Dune models (no Android TV), but they use some Android TV apps. Such apps works better with Remote Controller and without mouse. YouTube 4K for example works very good, but it is not hard to find such version of that app, and it works in 4K also at other devices. Dune said, that they have special version of Netflix app. I think we will have to wait to verify that.
Widevine L1 requires special contract with Google, and is not easy and available for everyone. Google verifies both brand and the factory. If you have such contract, you get unique widevine keys from Google, that shall be applied per each player at the factory. L1 does not make Netflix to work in HD automatically, for sure.
Ziddo - looks as Dune uses same factory. There is not so much factories that are experienced and advanced with mediaplayers and RTD mainboards. Factory team is responsible for Android integration and developing dedicated applications for the chipset. This is also answer about question about differences to Zappiti. Ziddo has own video player app for RTD, developed with own team, with close cooperation with Realtek. Not everyone can do that well (I have seen samples from Mele factory, and their video player is much worse to Zidoo one). As I know Dune wants to develop own player apps. They have big experiences from the past, as they did it for Sigma. I believe they can do that. Also to keep same functionality and compatibility as we had at current Dune players. But it takes time, and it is not sure what video player will come with first PRO models.
Ziddo X20 looks same, but we have now initial photos from Dune, and I think the source od design is same, due to factory (so mainboard layout etc), but Dune will update the casing, will use different front display etc. We will see.
For new s905x Dunes, Dune's developers works hard on improvements in Amlogic generic player app. Dune decided to release all the new models in same time, with different HW platforms, so it is big effort for development.
RTD 1296 at PRO Ultra is used as it handles two SATA channels (this version of chipset as special extensions for NAS servers, and I already have seen that it is used by Synology or/and QNAP). It also support bigger memory capacities, compared to 1295. But video quality and handling is same at both.
So here is many RTD1295 device on the market now. Hardware differences are not big. Dune focus a lot on the software, this shall make big differences. They will keep current Dune UI, with access to Android markets (Google Play supported, but also other big market will be included, available without google account). Android apps launcher will be integrated with Dune UI. That's nice. The bigger challenge in my opinion is video player app. And if Dune wants to have own one, we can expect that whole device will offer more than all the other solutions available now.
