How odd. It isn't a best buy exclusive in Canada, and you could order it online from Best Buy and Amazon.ca. I picked it up in store since it doesn't hit the Beat Buy free shipping threshold, and I found it, so I didn't need to order it from Amazon.

Amazon.ca link http://www.amazon.ca/Blade-Runner-2.../dp/B075ZB7K6M

And yes, as of this writing, it's shipped and sold by amazon, not 3rd party scalpers.

Best buy Canada is sold out online.

Unfortunately Amazon Canada claims it won't ship the 3D version to my Kentucky address.

The 3D version is also available at WBshop.com. I don't know if it comes with a slip though since the picture on the site just shows the case.

Glad to help, it sucks we have to run through hoops now for major film releases, last time I went to my local family video store the manager told me one of the reasons they aren't getting 3d anymore because the last major releases going back from star wars to Dr strange they couldn't get copies to stock, so they're just going to do 4k. Of course everyone will say 3d failed to garner interest, but the powers that be make it so difficult

I just ordered Kong Skull Island as well, but I'm a bit concerned it listed the 3D as a pre-order. Might be a long wait or never show up at all if they're having trouble getting 3D stock.

FWIW, plenty of 2049 3D discs in stock at my local BB. In fact probably more copies out than any other title.

There is a little sticker on it that says this 3D BD is a Best Buy exclusive. Interesting because with both WB.com and Family Video also selling it, that does not appear to be the case unless there is something different about Best Buy's disc content, case, or sleeve.

Family Video says the order contains items that are not available anymore (i.e. Skull Island) and cannot be reordered, yet it still lists the purchase as "processing". I'm guessing it's an error in their system and anyone who ordered it won't get it.

I think it's just the slipcase that is exclusive in the US.

I got mine at BB too.
Great movie. I love 3D, but I must say it didn't take advantage enough of 3d.
Like at the end of the movie. A seemingly flat image with digital snow added in.

I'll still prefer this movie 3D, but if it isn't an option I'd still watch it in 2D and wouldn't be missing much.

Odd, I thought the 3D was one of the most natural looking I've seen. I would have preferred some pop-outs (other than the snow and a brief tiny thing here and there that was only a bit in front of the screen), but the depth felt very natural to me without constantly showing off just to show off (like Ghost in the Shell seemed to do constantly; of course I also think Blade Runner 2049 is the better overall movie so that might bias me). It won the award for best 3D conversion for 2017, so I don't think it's just me. You have lots of people over at the Bluray forums that agree with you, however. I wonder how much the size and even brand of set has to do with it. I'm using a 93" screen with active glasses (Epson 3100).

If you can't find it at BB, you could get it at the WB store for $35.

I understand. $30+ is a lot for a movie.

But this movie is special to me, so when I saw it disappearing from BBs so fast, I panicked and bought one. Some 3D movies are a very limited run and have gone out of print.

I do want to get a copy of it eventually. That would be awful if it became unavailable.

Try amazon Canada? If you buy the one disc, with shipping it would be about $25 USD ($22 + $8 per order + $2 per item in CAD).

If you follow these instructions, you can get several 3DBDs under $20 each, including BR2049.

There are so few 3D movies being released in the USA, and quantities seem to be very limited when they are, so I don't mind spending a few more bucks for a 3D movie. In my experience, if I wait on a 3D release I end up either never getting it or paying way above suggested retail.

I think the 3D version of Blade Runner is significantly better than the Blu ray version. I pre-ordered it from Amazon UK for about $30 for the steel book version but it never arrived and the money was refunded. I ended up paying $40 to get the 3D version off ebay from Canada. This was the first time Amazon UK failed to deliver.

I got lucky with BR2049 3D as I was able to find a copy at one of the local Best Buys. I liked the movie overall and the 3D was good but not particularly memorable. I don't think the movie was anywhere near as interesting as the original.

I ordered Thor Ragnarok 3D from Amazon UK last week as the price ended up being quite reasonable ($26 US including shipping); it's the first time I've purchased an item from Amazon's UK branch so I will be curious to see how it works out and when I get it. Given the dearth of 3D releases in the USA I have a sinking feeling I'll need to do this more often going forward if I want to continue to watch 3D at home.

I finally have Atmos sound with the 3D video (option for Auro-3D as well since I own both discs) and moved both soundtracks to the 3D version (using MKVToolnix) that my new Zidoo media player can play straight off a hard drive or the local network if your connection is fast enough. Awesome! 3D sound and video should have been a no-brainer for the studios, but they managed to screw that up with 3D as well....

I have successfully ripped 3D BDs before, so I've got that part down. It took a VERY long time figuring out how to do that in full resolution that would work with my system. Next thing I'd like to do is introduce the better audio tracks, like you mention.

Is there an existing, good, step-by-step procedure I could follow? I've tried to do things like this before, and it usually takes hours and hours and hours of research, learning, muxing, trying over, finding a different/better process, etc. The time involved is almost like a hobby unto itself. So I don't think I even want to start it unless there is a good documented procedure somewhere, or if someone is willing to help me out.

All I do is use MakeMKV to extract a 3D movie (make sure 3D MVC is checked on the file in the rip list) and then the Zidoo X9S will play it the same as if it were off the disc (minus the menus and extras). If I need to add an Atmos track, I use MKVToolnix which you "add source" for each file and check the files you want to combine (the entire 3D file plus the Atmos track off the 2K or 4K rip file). If the sound is not in sync, you can click on the Atmos track and there's a box for adding or subtracting 'delay' for it (helps to use KODI to test adjust if need be). Muxing doesn't take all that long so if you have to adjust the sync a bit more, it's not THAT horrible. Most discs line up fine without adjustment if they come in the same set (e.g. a 3D disc without Atmos plus a 2D disc with it), although not always. That's all there is to it with a Zidoo, which can play MVC 3D from MKV files. Burning a disc is a bit more complicated. I don't have the software to do it here and I'm trying to get away from discs (much more convenient to have all my 3D movies in a database list from a hard drive and click the one I want to watch instead of loading discs and putting up with menus, etc.)
