Did anyone notice any oddly placed audio elements in the Dolby TrueHD Atmos soundtrack or was it just me and my system's decoding? Like sounds coming from rear right surround when it made more sense for them to come from front right speaker?

Probably my Denon AVR acting funny

Got it as an impulse buy.

I didn't notice anything off with the Atmos audio.

I don't suffer from acrophobia, but this one gave me the heebie-jeebies. One sequence seemed like a direct rip-off of one from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. (With duct tape, rather than high-tech gloves.)

The plot was nonsensical. I'm sort of a Dwayne Johnson fan, even though I never watched pro wrestling. His acting abilities exceed those required for that sport. I was even impressed by his singing abilities in Moana.

I strongly recommend this one for anyone who wants a PG-13 rated action movie (not a lot of blood spray) that doesn't require a lot of intellectual stimulation. It's a DV title, and a lot of it is night shots, so it gives a pretty good workout to an HDR TV.

Skyscraper succeeds as escapist entertainment, why we watch movies. Of Dwayne's upcoming movies, the one i'm most looking forward to is "Red Notice" where he co stars with Gal Gadot - an Interpol agent tracks the world's most wanted art thief.

from the review, no matter how good it looks, I'll avoid buying this even if it was in a bargain bin on Black Friday

thanks Ralph
The movie looked good but it was a dog, very predictable, mediocre at best. It bombed at the box office, that's why they are charging so much for the 4K and Blu-Ray, the studio is trying to recoup their costs.

In my humble opinion, it's not worth buying at the present cost their asking.

If you bother to pick it up, wait for it to be heavily discounted.

I checked, wondering if this was the start of bargain-binning for UHD movies.

Nope, it's the regular BD. The lowest price they list for the 4k disk is $20 + $4 S&H. The Amazon/Prime price is still $30.

Too bad. That suggests that the 4k market is still small, regardless of the fact that most flat panel TVs on the market larger than 40" are 4k.

This movie was dumb. Poor acting (save for Neve Campbell), predictable yet ridiculous story. Ideas taken from other films (should have called this Sky Hard). Anyway, loved it.

While true for panel display, many folks now a day no longer purchase movies, they prefer to download, for convenience, my satellite provider, using an optic cable, fail once in a while, as freezing. I fail to understand, how downloading would provide a true 4K pictures, and provide the proper sound experience.
That said, some movies around here in Canada are now, $20, 25 for the older ones. while new one's are $33.

Also saw this one for $15 today, a new low pricing for me:
http://afterconvert.com/forum/187-o...hd-review.html
And will get-it tomorrow, I did enjoy this movie, and $15 for a 4K movie, is like

Doing lots of double dipping lately, even after I said, I would not replace current BD

I am double dipping as well but not all of them.

I watched Skyscraper the other night it looked great on 4k.

Regarding 4k streaming I'm not big on it. Most people who do streaming dont really care about the quality of the movie. I know some they download their movies and it looks horrendous on their panel but they're content with the image.

Very true

I once had to prove to someone, that told me copying a disk with compressed data. Sound the same as the original, since all about 0 and 1.
I lend that kid, 5 or 6 CD. Then he brought his copy version. Then we play the original CD, compare to downloaded one.
His reaction, was and firmly believe the same is true, for picture quality.

Thanks for your input, about the picture on Skyscraper, looking forward. to watch this one.
How was the sound for you, since we always had very close comment observation, in the past?

Just watch this one today.

Movie was good, my wife and I both enjoy-it, it was a fun ride.
Even with some scene, that brought the vertigo moment in me, since I am not a big fan of height's.

The sound was very good, and the picture was pure eye candy

Glad, I added this one, to my collection.

I saw this as a rental from Netflix and was surprised the rental had Dolby Atmos. I enjoyed this movie so much that I purchased the 4K UHD BLU-RAY. It reminded me somewhat of "Towering Inferno"
