it's not currently available in UHD (yet), only bluray. But I read this week on thedigitalbits.com that it will be released in UHD in Europe, and UHD is region free, so either buy that, or wait for it to be released in UHD in the US later this year

I don't think it was telegraphed, but this site points out six things:

http://www.businessinsider.com/split...-even-deeper-3

I, for one, didn't see it coming (no reason to). However...

Spoiler!

I kind of felt the same for the movie Creed. I never really accepted what I saw on screen regarding Adonis's motives until a very important line he says near the tail-end of the film. It kind of saved everything in front of it, if you know what I mean (I guess you'd have to have seen the movie to understand).

Mind putting in Spoiler tags the Creed line you're thinking of? It's been a while since I've seen it.

Spoiler!

In another forum I had a discussion with another use regarding my initial thoughts of the film (the quote above was a part of it), and while I thought some of it should have been rewritten regarding character motives, that one line really did save Creed for me. It got me to "rewind" the film and see it in a whole different light.

I'll link you to that discussion, but you'd have to register to the site to read it. (I am Blzer on that message board)

Split Blu-ray Review

Got a mate to pick the UHD today and it's only DTS HD MA 5.1. Will be returning that.

Finally watched this movie and will admit it has an excellent soundtrack. The story was good and I felt the actor played each of his personalities well. I liked the surprise ending. Now that this movie is released on 4K UHD I am debating on upgrading. Even though the audio is still only DTS HD 5.1 on the UHD on the blu-ray it did sound good upmixed to Neural X.

for those who have the UHD version, is it worth the bump up from regular BD? i've seen this via vudu and it's a dark film.
the BD is only 9.99 so is it worth the upgrade?

If it's worth it is entirely up to you. That said, I think there are many instances in the movie where I was awe-struck at the UHD presentation. The flashback scenes particularly looked especially striking. Even some of the dimly lit sequences were quite impressive. This is now in my top 10 for overall UHD presentations.

Now that Glass is out, wonder if your thoughts on Split are going to change about its ending and "missing" pieces?

Thanks for review. Saw it tonight. Still not sure what I thought about it overall. I do know that I enjoyed it and at the very least that James McAvoy is amazing in it.

I watched this one last year and was impressed. McAvoy should have won an Oscar.

Still haven't seen Unbreakable... but my plan is to watch it in the next week or two... re-watch Split... then go see Glass.

I haven’t seen Glass. A family who has, not sure exactly how as seems to see all these “new” movies before they are actually out, opinion is Split was unnecessary. A quick synopsis of it and you have all you need to know to understand Glass.

Again I have no idea.

And it is not given than the sequel ties up the 2nd one. If it does certainly would address some of the weaknesses in Split. It wasn’t meant to be an end unto itself.
