So I would expect their UHD player to retail around 800 dollars to a grand when it releases.
I am a fan of Panasonic, but they can keep it at that price.

My 930C should be getting delivered in the next few hours. I've never owned a high end TV, so I'm pumped. When my wife sees the speakers on the TV itself she is going to be like you've got to be kidding me (even though I won't be using the TV's speakers). She already thinks my other speakers are too much. I always tell her that my audio setup is subtle and pales in comparison to most others on this forum.

Don't know how much this has been discussed here, but Picture mode settings are also saved separately across three app groups (as far as has been identified):

- Apps
- Apps (Video)
- Apps (Photo)

You can find out which apps are in what group by launching the app and then opening the Action menu and selecting Picture adjustments...the app group will be listed at the top of the Picture Adjustments menu. (See attached pic, showing the Apps (Video) group.

Apps (Video) appears to be reserved for pre-loaded video apps like Netflix, Amazon, and the Sony Video app. 3rd-party video apps that I've checked so far seem to fall into the "Apps" category.

Sound adjustments from the Action menu also follow these groupings AFAIK.

I've had the K8500 on order from Amazon for two weeks now. Would have thought that would received the biggest allotment of players. Two weeks and they still have not received any stock.

Where did you guys find yours?

Got 940C few months ago- I don't have disc player- only using streaming thru set- initially the above HDR settings were what my set had originally out of the box- i thought hdr pics on amazon, etc were great- i changed few of the HDR settings (lowered color, changed color temp to warm/exp 1, motionflow, cinemotion, etc to see if i liked change)- been messing around with these HDR settings- now, after firmware update awhile back, when i use "reset" to go back to stock HDR settings i see that color is on 50, col temp is Exp1, live color off, motionflow on true cinema, etc) .Also the local dimming & xtend dynamic range are greyed outnow & set to medium & high. I've changed my HDR back to above original settings- wondering for streaming HDR stuff, if the new settings after using HDR "reset" should be used or if original stock setting are best- what HDR settings to most folks use to stream HDR content- i've tried them all & can't really tell which to use- they all look decent-

Well the rtings.com has brightness set to Min on their calibration and according to them you can adjust it depending on how much lighting is in your room. According to them its the equivalent
of backlighting on other TVs. So I have found that the settings are close to a real world picture without too much contrast. If you have the Spears and Munsil disc- playback the lighthouse scene and use that as a reference point and calibrate it from there to your liking.

Sorry the Samsung player isn't released in Australia yet and the only HDR stuff we have access to is from that demo site. Unless I try the settings on them. But not too sure if they
are a true representation of HDR tho.

Same here. But OPPO's keeping things quiet about the new player. I suppose most folks know OPPO is really a great audio system also!

Feel free to use the X850C FAQ in my Sig as a template.

Much of the info there on the various tabs is also applicable to the X930C/X940C series as well, and could be useful to share here.

Well so far I've only been able to watch a little bit of cable, but Sony definitely lives up to it's reputation for fantastic upscaling. This TV is built like a tank and doesn't feel cheap at all. I can't wait to try out some blu rays tomorrow.

Having an issue with my non Sony 3D glasses not engaging 3D. Sony glasses that came with tv are working.

My Sharp glasses were working fine before. But now they will register but won't switch to 3D. I can only think something happened after the last firmware update?

Trying to watch The Good Dinosaur in 3D with my daughter...she's not happy.

Anyone else have a similar issue?

I had the same problem yesterday with trying to watch a 3D bluray. I have both the Sony 3D glasses and 2 more that are Panasonic that I bought from Amazon and they all worked the other 3 times I watched 3D. I did a TV reset using the remote control Off button and after that it was fine and both the Sony and Panasonic 3D glasses worked fine.

Just placed my order for the 940C. Should have it in a week or so...

My current panel is the 70" Sharp Elite. Anyone else coming from the Elite to the Sony? Any impressions you can share?

Thanks for the advice. Just tried the remote rest. Still no luck. I'm going to try replacing the batteries in those 4 pairs of glasses. They are about 2-1/2 years old. So hopefully that is the reason.

That's why you don't see anyone noting color accuracy issues via the 940c's HDMI inputs.
I got my Apple TV 3 out of storage, and confirmed that there is no color accuracy problem.

It looks like I will be keeping the Sony 740c

So far, everyone who has seen this screen has commented on how it's by far the best screen they have ever seen -- and both my wife and I are enjoying it very much as well.

The only remaining complaint is that Android OS seems to be really buggy, but the image quality more than compensates for that. Hopefully the new Marshmallow update comes out soon and fixes things up.
