This is a great deal for those who are still stuck in dial-up land due to cost (or are already SBC DSL subscribers). SBC is now offering DSL for $15/mo for their low-end version, or $25/mo for 3Mbps. The service area that SBC covers is the old Ameritech, SW Bell and PacBell territories.

Dam it. I just signed up 3 weeks ago for $20/month. I wonder if there is a way that I can get them to give me the new promotion price. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes, I just went from $20 to $15 / month no problem. Read the instructions in the 2nd posting here :-

Worked very smoothly (you will see that soem had a few glitches wit hthe Reps but mostly no-one had trouble)

Enjoy the $60!

I called twice and can not get SBC to rerate. They insisted on the new rate is for new custommer only. A friend of mine called them 4 times, but no luck.

I don't understand why some can and some can not.

I called last Friday and didn't have a problem. I also told a buddy of mine to call and he didn't have a problem either.

This is very tempting, but what do you guys plan on doing after the first year when they stick you with the regular price?

Thanks

SBC indicated (to me) that you can accept a 2nd year at the same price. After that who knows?
