Blu Ray Rental Service

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question.

My question is in regards to rental services. I know Netflix and even Redbox have rental services that let you get Blu-ray discs sent to your door with a subscription service. The question is about the quality. I have read and heard rumors that Netflix and Redbox Blu rays are subpar quality. They are considered "rental" versions and not "retail" versions and often strip out advanced features like DTS or 7.1 surround sound. Is this true in any way and how can I confirm?

Is there a rental service that does now or will soon offer rentals for advanced Blu-rays as well? UHD, 3D, etc?

Thank you!
